Coffee and Viz: Robin Grossinger, Visualization and historical ecology

March 4, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Free

Robin Grossinger is a leading practitioner of historical ecology, the use of historical evidence to reconstruct past environments. His work on San Francisco Bay, the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, Napa Valley, the Salinas Valley, and other landscapes in California has changed how scientists and policymakers plan restoration projects, invest in infrastructure, and adapt to a changing climate. In this talk for the Hunt Library’s Coffee and Viz series, Robin will reflect on nearly 20 years of experience visualizing landscape change and discuss how visualization helps bring the past to bear on the present.
